Beira Alta's megalithism is full of originality. The location of dolmens and mounds/tumuli on the stony tableland of the region, the austerity and diversity of its buildings make these monuments unique.
Above all, they represent the human ingenuity and perpetuate the belief of life after death.
These are the first major buildings of mankind in the region.
